Currently I am working with pre-collegiate athletes in a multi-sport environment developing and improving speed, agility, and quickness through movement and training protocols emphasizing mechanical efficiency and corrective exercise to reduce the risk of injury. We also utilize basic strength training and metabolic conditioning protocols to maximize power production and work capacity. As a personal trainer in both private training studios and big-box facilities I have been afforded the opportunity to work with a variety of individuals of varying ages and fitness levels, as well as with those dealing with metabolic, cardiovascular, neuromuscular conditions and post-surgery rehabilitative needs.
When it comes to nutrition, I believe in a simple approach. I do not subscribe to any one “diet” or way of eating because everyone is different and therefore nutrition should be approached the same. Find what not only works for you, but a way of eating that you are happy to sustain for years to come.
I received my Masters in Exercise Physiology from the University of Louisville in 2012, and have been a certified personal trainer since 2007. I started playing sports when I was young like most other kids do, and gravitated to soccer, playing both recreationally and competitively into my late teens, culminating in a small stretch of time playing on US travel team in Europe. Since 2001 I have been studying and training in Chinese boxing, and it has played a tremendous role in my life along with heavily influencing my style of training.
I do not claim to be an expert only that my experiences, taken together, have given me a unique perspective I want to share.
